Pond Vacuums, Keeping Your Backyard Pond Clean
Backyard and landscaping ponds add value to any property. Keeping these water bodies clean can be a chore. One of the best tools to help you keep the water clean and full of oxygen is a pond vacuum. Failure to remove debris and detritus from the pool bottom may cause it to go into an anaerobic state. This foul smelling condition kills aquatic plants and animals that need oxygenated water.
Pond vacuums work on the same principle as a pool vacuum system. A wand and hose are attached to a suction pump that has a collection tank or filter system that captures and removes the leaves, algae and other organic material. In some models the captured debris is automatically discharged through a hose to your garden or other appropriate site for disposal. It is important to monitor and manage your pond chemical parameters especially Ph levels right after vacuuming. Expensive high end pond vacuums have enough suction power to remove all the organic materials from your pond. These pond vacuums work very well and will restore your pond to its original condition. A top quality pond vacuum will cost more than 0 however it is a very good investment if you are interested in the proper management of your ponds. It will not be long before your realize the investment into a quality pond vacuum will save time and money.
